Karakter Beach Bar, located on Simpson Bay in St. Maarten, is most well known for the bus that makes up its bar and kitchen. When we first visited Karakter, it was at night, so we couldn’t enjoy the scenery as much as we would have liked. To rectify the situation, we came back the next day, grabbed a table by the beach, worked our way through a couple ‘ti punches and decided to set the GoPro down and let it do its thing....

One of the reasons I picked the Royal Palm Beach Resort for our upcoming St. Martin/St. Maarten vacation is its location. Buccaneer Beach Bar, located on Kim Sha Beach on the east end of Simpson Bay in St. Maarten, has popped up on my radar a lot lately (doesn’t everyone have a beach bar radar?) due to its close proximity to a couple resorts we are considering for our trip at Thanksgiving. I mean, seriously, I’m not going to book a stay at a resort if I can’t walk to at least 3-4 beach bars in my swimsuit. It may not be a pretty sight...
