Beach Bar Pic of the Week – The Dune Preserve, Anguilla

While the Dune Preserve, a beach bar located on Redezvous Bay in Anguilla, still retains the same overall “adult treehouse on the beach” atmosphere it had before Hurricane Irma destroyed it in 2017, the most notable difference to a lot of people will be its façade. Its considerably different than before (view pre-Irma pics of the Dune Preserve) – the stage literally taking front and center now might be temporary. Moonsplash was held...

How to Visit Four Anguilla Beaches in One Day for $70 … And Not Drive

Tagged: , , , , , ,

When I started planning our day trip to Anguilla and its beaches (you know, for beach bar “research”), I reached out to various online groups for advice on getting around the island, specifically via a taxi service. As any longtime readers of this blog know, I’ve vacationed on the island twice before. I know it’s easy to get around, I know that the locals will help you if you become lost and I know that they drive on the wrong side of...

Enjoying the View at Waves Beach Bar in Anguilla

On our recent visit to Anguilla for beach bar “research,” there was one beach bar I knew I had to visit – Waves Beach Bar. Located on the beach at Meads Bay, you can find Waves at the former Bamboo Beer Box location, just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Four Seasons. If you take the walking path to the beach from the Anacaona, you’ll find it. We had our taxi drop us off at Ocean Echo and after a short walk...

Beach Bar Pic of the Week – Uncle Ernie’s Beach Bar, Anguilla

I’ve written about Uncle Ernie’s Beach Bar, located on Shoal Bay East in Anguilla, on the blog before. After Hurricane Irma came through in 2017, there was some question as to whether or not this longtime Anguilla beach bar would reopen. I had heard rumblings online about this or that and finally received confirmation that it was indeed going to reopen. It’s no longer the bright shade of green that used to make it stand out against...

Beach Bar Pic of the Week – Roy’s Bayside Grill, Anguilla

One restaurant/beach bar that’s always a must visit for me on Anguilla is Roy’s Bayside Grill. Located at the southern end of the beach on Road Bay in Sandy Ground, Roy’s has become a breakfast mainstay for us. The value is tremendous (in my opinion, the best on the island), especially if you’re staying in Sandy Ground and don’t have to take a taxi somewhere. The restaurant sustained a lot of damage from Irma in 2-17 but has come back...
