OJ’s Beach Bar: Antiguan Favorite is Still Going Strong

Tagged: , , , , ,

OJ’s Beach Bar, located on the soutwest coast of Antigua, has always been a favorite of mine. In fact, when anyone asks me about beach bars to visit in Antigua, I always include OJ’s. When Ian Corks from Seasoned Traveler reached out to me about submitting an article about it, I couldn’t say “yes” quick enough. Judging by Ian’s article, I’m guessing he’s as big a fan of it as I am. It...

Beach Bar Pic of the Week – Kon Tiki Bar and Grill, Antigua

Tagged: , , , ,

Calling Kon Tiki Bar and Grill, located on Dickenson Bay in Antigua, a beach bar might not meet the standards of purists but I have no qualms about it. And when I say “on” Dickenson Bay, I mean it’s literally on the bay – as in it’s on the water. Beach Bar Pic of the Week – Darkwood Beach Bar, Antigua

Tagged: , , ,

I’ve spent two weeklong vacations in Antigua, exploring its beach bars spread out over 365 different beaches. For some reason, I never made it to Darkwood Beach and its eponymously named Darkwood Beach Bar. Luckily for the rest of us, beach bar bum Polly Terry made it a...

Who said branches can’t be picturesque? This image, taken from a beach in Antigua, portrays a branch/twig propped up among some of the most glorious sand you’ll find anywhere. With the blues that helped make Antigua famous functioning as a picturesque backdrop, it might be all the proof we need that one man’s trash (in this case, Mother Nature) is another’s treasure. If I recall correctly, the bush that this leaf comes from is...

Beach Thursday Pic of the Week – English and Falmouth Harbours, Antigua

Tagged: , , ,

This image of English and Falmouth Harbours, located on the southern coast of Antigua, is a view I’ve been lucky enough to experience in person on two different occasions. Having vacationed twice on the island, we’ve been able to experience “sunset Sundays” at what might be the ultimate spot to experience the most magical of moments on the laziest of days – Shirley Heights. Presumably the spot that this...
