Beach Thursday Pic of the Week – St. Vincent and the Grenadines … Again

Tagged: ,

The followers of my Beach Bar Bums Facebook page have an obvious things for the multi-island Caribbean nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. That or the country’s spectacular setting is just too hard to resist. My guess is the latter. Either way, this is the second time in the last month they’ve chosen an image from SVG to be the “pic of the week.” Along with all the love they’ve been showing my beach bar posts about the island,...

Beach Thursday Pic of the Week – Sunset in Puerto Rico

Tagged: ,

I love this picture of sunset in Puerto Rico. With the sailboat in the foreground on calm seas and the towering palm trees silhouetted against a sunset with enough clouds to make it interesting, it’s a tranquil escape wrapped up in an image. For me, it represents a lot of what I love about the Caribbean – the freedom of the sea, life on the water and palm trees and sunsets as backdrops. It’s a good life in the Caribbean and this...

Beach Thursday Pic of the Week – St. Vincent and the Grenadines

When I first came across this picture of the view from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a country consisting of multiple islands in the Caribbean, I figured it would be a mild upset if some other image was the most popular “beach pic of the day” post from the previous week. I guess I should have put some money on it as the followers of my Facebook page agreed. The image captures most of the characteristics we appreciate about the...

Beach Thursday Pic of the Week – Mauritius

Mauritius, an island nation located about 550 miles due east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean, isn’t featured on the blog often. Not known for its beach bars, the island is well known for its pristine beaches. One of those beaches made it into this week’s article. Unidentified by the photographer who posted the image, the scene is representative of many found across the Caribbean. With boats beached in the sand or tethered to the...

Beach Thursday Pic of the Week – Praslin Island, Seychelles

Tagged: , ,

To be honest, I had never heard of Praslin Island before this week. The second largest island in Seychelles, most of Praslin’s interior is encompassed by Praslin National Park, a setup similar to St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Much like St. John, this results in much of the island being uninhabited, allowing the natural beauty of the land to take hold and flourish. This extends to beaches like the one pictured below, offering much...

Beach Thursday Pic of the Week – Mauritius

Tagged: ,

I don’t feature the beaches of Mauritius much on this blog so when the below pic of a boat off its shore was the most liked image from my daily “Beach pic of the day” posts, I was a little surprised. Not in a bad way, mind you. I thought it might have some appeal. The “boats on the water” images I’ve been sharing more frequently lately have resonated with my readers. The fact that the picture is similar to the cover photo of Kenny...
