As fall approaches, we’re getting ready to take a much-needed break to one of our favorite spots: Perdido Key, Florida! If you love pristine beaches, laid-back vibes, and refreshing cocktails, this place should definitely be on your radar. Since we’ve been lucky enough to visit this area several times, we thought we’d share what we’re looking forward to on this trip—and maybe get a few recommendations from you all!
Our Home Base: Needle Rush Point – Beachfront Condo, Right Down the Street from Flora-Bama
As with our previous two visits, we’re staying at a beachfront condo at Needle Rush Point. The best part? We’re just a short walk down the beach to the Flora-Bama! That means we can sip on our favorite Bushwackers while lounging in the sand without ever having to leave the beach. It’s one of those perfect spots where the music is always good, the crowd is always friendly, and you get to kick back with your toes in the sand. Plus, it’s the most fun you’ll have playing bingo. We’re planning on a few leisurely afternoons here, enjoying the views, the drinks, and of course, the atmosphere that makes the Flora-Bama such a classic.
Old Favorites We’re Looking Forward To
While Flora-Bama is a staple, we also have some other go-to spots that we never miss when we’re in town:
Flora-Bama Yacht Club: We’ll definitely be swinging by this spot during our trip. Located on the water, the Flora-Bama Yacht Club has the perfect combination of great food, cold drinks, and a laid-back vibe. It’s the perfect place to watch the boats, grab a bite, and kick back with a drink in hand.
CoastAL: Another favorite, CoastAL is a must-visit for both the food and the views. This place is perched right on the Gulf Coast, offering an incredible waterfront dining experience. The cocktails are delicious, and the food is always top-notch. Whether it’s a casual lunch or a sunset dinner, this spot is always a good choice.
The Gulf in Orange Beach: You can’t talk about the Perdido Key area without mentioning The Gulf. Built from repurposed shipping containers, this place offers a funky atmosphere, great food, and some of the best views around. It’s one of those spots that’s perfect for a relaxed afternoon drink or a fun evening out by the water.
