Beach Bar for Sale on Isla Mujeres, Mexico

The Soggy Peso, a beach bar located on Isla Mujeres, is for sale. A longtime favorite and one I have always recommended, the Soggy Peso not only includes the beach bar and restaurant, it also comes accommodations and the deeded land. From the agent’s website:

“Want to own fully functional, established and profitable business on the island? The name recognition alone makes the Soggy Peso a very interesting property for us to offer. Whether you want to continue the current, successful business plan or expand and add your own touches this business is ready. Long, proven track record.

-Successful bar & restaurant
-5 rentable vacation units (including owners residence)
-Federal zone concession (shore use permit)
-Existing dock with the potential to expand into a marina
-252.62 Meter Square of deeded land (2719 Sq Ft)

This property has been featured on multiple travel sites and is a go to recommendation for visitors to the island. It has a dedicated following, a proven business record and is just waiting for the perfect new owner.”

The listing page includes close to 60 images of the property along with a map which shows the beach bar’s exact location. With the ability to live on property and with the additional income from the rentable vacation units, this business opportunity might be too good to pass up. You will have to bring some funds with you, though. The asking price is currently set at $1.99 million.

Have you been to the Soggy Peso? If so, what did you think of it – worth the price? How about anyone who has stayed there? The images of the rental units make them out to be pretty nice. I have actually been inside the owner’s unit and it’s spacious and airy. With the ability to monitor your business from your living quarters, the appeal might be too hard to ignore. Plus, those views are the quintessential million dollar views. Someone just needs to figure it if they’re worth $2 million.
