Six Videos to Get You in the Christmas-in-the-Caribbean Spirit

Tagged:

It’s that time of year again where hopes for a white Christmas dominate the thoughts of many. For most of those people, the word “white” refers to snow but for many a beach bar bum, white sand might be more appropriate. Whether you find your “white” Christmas covered in snow or sand, here are five videos guaranteed to get you in that holiday spirit, Caribbean style … or at least leave you craving some egg nog (heavy on the rum, please). Here’s to the holidays!

Kenny Chesney – Christmas in Blue Chair Bay
I mean, come on. Did you think I would start this list off with anything but a song from Kenny Chesney (can you say “love affair?”)? He has better Christmas songs but this one makes me want to spend Christmas in the Caribbean more than any of the others.

Bob Marley And The Wailers – White Christmas
Can you have a list like this without the world’s greatest reggae star? The short answer – no.

John Yarde ft Bevil Joseph – Caribbean Christmas
Chances are you haven’t heard this song. That’s the best reason I can think of that it should be on this list.

Jimmy Buffett – Christmas in the Caribbean
Chances are good you’ve heard this song. It’s a staple on the airwaves in December and outside of No Shoes Nation, no one loves the Caribbean more than parrot heads.

The Maytals – Happy Christmas (The Christmas Song)
I couldn’t have this list and not include at least one song from Toots and the Maytals.

Relaxing Caribbean Steel Pan Christmas Music
Last but not least, 45 minutes of steel pan Christmas music because that seemed like the perfect way to cap this off!
