56 Minutes of Sunset Bliss at Solomon’s Beach Bar in The Gambia

Tagged: , ,

It’s not often that I get to feature beach bars in Africa, much less from the tiny country of The Gambia. What The Gambia lacks in geographical imprint, however, is more than made up for in number of beach bars. With a coast that measures about 40 miles of oceanfront (not including the River Gambie), The Gambia manages to pack a multitude of beach bars onto western facing shores. From Santosha Beach Bar in the south to Cape Point, The Gambia’s Atlantic coast beaches offer a plethora of beach bars to meet every traveler’s unique preferences.

One hotspot for beach bars in The Gambia is Senegambia Beach, pictured above. Just to the north of this beach bar hub sits Solomon’s Beach Bar on Palma Rima Beach. Surrounded by towering palms and thatched huts with endless water views, Solomon’s is the perfect spot to catch the sunset over the Atlantic. While the water may not be what you are used to in the Caribbean, there’s something about the warmth of the sun enveloping your body as your toes sink deeper into the sand that just can’t be beat, no matter where you are.
