There are few places in the world where I feel more at home while traveling than Road Bay and the community that fronts it, Sandy Ground, in Anguilla. From the views atop the bluffs surrounding it to its perfectly crescent-shaped beach to the numerous beach bar that dot its shores, Sandy Ground/Road Bay has always felt like coming home. The sunsets, the bobbing boats, the freight from ships being unloaded, music pouring from the bars and the sound of fun emanating from the kids swimming on its shore all add to a grand yet understated message that says “Welcome to our world. Say good bye to the rest of the world.” One day I’ll stay forever.
