One of our favorite videographers on YouTube, Captain Birch, recently released a video of an abandoned/deserted beach bar on Water Island in the US Virgin Islands. For those of you who don’t know, Water Island is the oft forgotten fourth island in the USVI. Located just across the West Gregerie Channel off the southern coast of St. Thomas (or about 1.5 miles southeast of the airport terminal), Water Island is the fourth largest of the US Virgin Islands. More importantly, at least for all intents and purposes for this article, it’s home to a deserted beach bar.
I don’t know a lot about this beach bar. Captain Birch mentions that it was destroyed by Hurricane Hugo in 1989 and 30 years later, it still sits abandoned. He goes on to state that the beach is a popular place for campfires and kids to to have parties.
Do you know anything about this beach bar? If so, let me know in the comments!
