While the Dune Preserve, a beach bar located on Redezvous Bay in Anguilla, still retains the same overall “adult treehouse on the beach” atmosphere it had before Hurricane Irma destroyed it in 2017, the most notable difference to a lot of people will be its façade. Its considerably different than before (view pre-Irma pics of the Dune Preserve) – the stage literally taking front and center now might be temporary. Moonsplash was held the weekend before this image was taken and the stage might have been leftover from the music festival.
In either case, the appeal of the Dune remains. While it still has a little ways to go, mostly on the street-facing side, it should be on anyone’s must do list when on the island. There are few better ways I can imagine spending an afternoon than exploring all of the nooks and crannies of this world-famous beach bar, especially with a rum punch or two in hand.
Find out how we were able to explore four beaches on Anguilla for only $70 via our own private taxi.
