45 Seconds at the Boon Beach Bar and Restaurant in St. Maarten

Mary’s Boon, a small resort located on Simpson Bay in St. Maarten, has always appealed to me as a possible place to stay when visiting the island. Discovering they have a beach bar (or at least a named one – The Boon Beach Bar), a fact somehow unbeknownst to me before last week, adds to the appeal. Besides being affordable, close to the airport and located on the more secluded north central part of the bay, the resort is also within walking distance of Karakter Beach Bar, making a small beach bar crawl a daily possibility.

If you’re looking for an affordable, quaint and laid back place to stay in St. Maarten that puts at least enough emphasis on its own beach bar to name it, you should consider Mary’s Boon. As with any resort on the island post-Irma, I encourage you to check with the resort directly regarding room conditions and availability.

Have you stayed at Mary’s Boon or visited the Boon Beach Bar? If so, let us know what you thought in the comments! As always, your opinion is appreciated. Cheers!

  2. I have to get there! What airlines fly into there?

    • All of the major airlines fly into St. Martin/Maarten. It’s a major hub in the Caribbean. Airport code is SXM. Enjoy, Karen!

  3. We’ve stayed there two years in a row, we now consider it a home away from home. We go every February. Everyone at this small resort is extremely friendly and very helpful. Beautiful gardens (before Irma, they are working on getting it back to beautiful) The bartenders in the bar are fun and know how to make a mean drink. Their food is delicious and the service is spot on. They really know how to make you feel welcome.
