It’s always a good day when a beach bar announces its reopening. The beach bar at the popular Magens Bay, also home to a café and boutique, announced it’s reopening this past Sunday. The St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands beach bar had been operating out of a temporary set up since early November. However, this weekend it was apparently finally ready to reopen at its permanent location.
Making the announcement on its Facebook page, the Magens Bay Beach Bar termed the opening a “soft” one, indicating that the beach bar may not be back at full capacity yet. Either way, it’s a step in the right direction and another sign that the island, and the region in general, seem to be making their way back after the twin hurricanes of Irma and Maria.
If you find yourself on St. Thomas, make it a point to stop by the beach bar at Magens Bay. The bay itself is phenomenal but they’ve done a good job with the beach bar. It doesn’t get enough (if any) mentions in “best of beach bar” lists but I can’t imagine visiting the island and not spending a fair amount of time sipping rum punches here, especially at sunset.
If you decide to head to Magens Bay, be sure and make Udder Delite a pit stop. Two words – boozy milkshakes.
