The owners of the world famous Soggy Dollar Bar, a beach bar located on Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands and home to the equally famous Painkiller cocktail, announced in a release to its email subscribers the formation of a new relief fund. The “Soggy Dollar – Virgin Islands Community Relief Fund” was formed “for the purpose of helping the restoration of Jost Van Dyke community it is a part of, and its natural habitat,” states the release. It goes on to say that the funds raised “will be devoted to helping the White Bay community regain its beauty by replanting new palms, cleaning the pristine beach, and assisting in the neighborhood rebuild.” Donations to the fund can be made online or mailed to the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation. Further information on how to contribute money to the fund can be found here.
Also included in the release was news on the launch of the “I HEART SOGGY” limited line of merchandise. All net proceeds will go to the new relief fund and you can order the limited line of merchandise by visiting their website here.
Updates on the Soggy Dollar’s Sandcastle Hotel and the Soggy Dollar Online Boutique, located in St. John, were also provided. The hotel will remain closed for the 2017-2018 season while the online store is still working to fulfill orders placed through September 22nd.
