The Beach Bar, located on Cruz Bay in St. John, US Virgin Islands, released a statement via their Facebook page. Providing an update on their rebuild but mostly thanking everyone who helped the beach bar survive Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the post was signed by Reed and Sherry, the current owners.
The post opens by stating that all of the members of the staff are safe and goes on to thank those same individuals for their help in the pre-hurricane preparations, specifically stating “Due to their efforts, The Beach Bar survived.” They also go on to mention with pride the help their staff provided in the aftermath of the storms, writing that they worked with first responders “to clear debris, roads, work with fellow restaurants to prepare & serve meals and helped evacuate both people & pets to safety.”
The post closes by promising to share updates via their Facebook page as they “repair, rebuild and revive its legacy.” They offer thanks for all the thoughts and prayers and implores others to support the St. John relief effort in any way they can.
