One of the benefits of running the “Beach pic of the day” posts on my Facebook page is discovering new destinations to put on my travel wish list. This week’s most popular post revealed yet another entrant onto that list as this image of a pier at Calabash Caye, located in the Turneffe Islands of Belize, proved too much to resist.
Don’t plan on staying here, however, as a quick search online found only one VRBO rental offering any semblance of accommodations. More known for the Calabash Caye Field Station, a marine research facility currently being run by the University of Belize, this tiny island in the western Caribbean is more likely to host students than tourists.
To download the high resolution version of the image above, head on over to the Wallpapers page and be sure to check out the Facebook page for our “Beach pics of the day” posts. Vote for your favorite by “liking” the photo and each week, we’ll post the winning image and a high resolution image of it for your viewing and downloading pleasure … but it will only be available for one week.
