If you’ve followed this blog for any period of time, you’ll know that the Strip in St. Kitts, a stretch of beach bars located on South Frigate Bay, if one of my favorite places in the world. An area that I’ve desctibed as “beach bar utopia” is getting even better with some much needed upgrades soon coming to its shores.
According to this article from the Times Caribbean Online, the Strip will soon be seeing some upgrades including “a boardwalk, parking and amenities” per a statement from the Minister of Tourism Hon. Lindsay Grant. Also included in the $7 million project are plans to repair the damage to the beach caused by erosion.
Anyone who has been to the Strip will know that these upgrades have been a longtime coming and certain to be welcomed by tourists and the business owners and employees who depend on the Strip for their livelihood. I, for one, can’t wait to return and check out the improvements. Hey, anything that makes beach bar hopping on one of my favorite beaches easier is just fine in my book!
