Somewhat buried in the opening of Zemi Beach House Resort and Spa on Anguilla’s Shoal Bay East, the beach bar at the brand new property’s Shoal Bay Zemi Beach Club is the newest entry into the growing beach bar scene on this world famous stretch of other-worldly powdery white sand. While 20 Knots, the beach club’s onsite restaurant, garners most of the attention (and rightfully so – Anguilla Beaches refers to it as “laid back luxury“), the beach bar takes the laid back luxury mantra to the extreme, wrapping your toes in the same sand that surrounds the beach bar. That’s right, even at ultra-luxe Zemi Beach House, there’s no need to wipe the sand from the soles of your feet to reach the beach bar. This is a beach resort, after all, that prides itself on barefoot living, so having sand pebbles shaken loose from your feet as you shuffle across marble floors would be bordering on sacrilegious.
The beach bar at the Shoal Bay Zemi Beach Club joins Shoal Bay East stalwarts such as Uncle Ernie’s, Madeariman, Tropical Sunset and Gwen’s, giving visitors who appreciate the “livin’ de life” motto beach bar bums the world over adhere to yet another choice of beaches to consider when hitting the shores of this 35 square mile Caribbean paradise. And you know, there is that whole “best beach in the world” thing that might attract visitors to Shoal Bay East … besides the myriad of beach bars, of course.
