While this video of Roger’s Beach Bar, located on Hog Island in Grenada, doesn’t contain any actual video footage, it does include enough pics of people having a good time to make you want to add Grenada to your travel wish list. Keep in mind that a lot of the country’s best beach bars, including Roger’s, the Dodgy Dock and Umbrella’s, along with some of it most famous beaches (BBC and Grand Anse) are located on the southwest tip of the island and just a short taxi ride away from the international airport. And even though it might be a little inconvenient to reach Roger’s Beach Bar, it offers an opportunity to lime at a truly classic throwback Caribbean beach bar where there might not be any running water or electricity but there’s plenty of rum and smiles for everyone.
I’ve featured Grenada quite a few times recently on the blog, including this review by Jay Eatz on Umbrella’s Beach Bar and this handy dandy list of the best beach bar Grenada has to offer. And really, isn’t this video of a Carriacou sunset just the most perfect way to end the day?
A special thanks to The Starboard Rail for featuring the video on Google+ and to the Grenada Tourism Authority for allowing use of the image to promote their beautiful country.
