With almost a thousand miles of coastline abutting two different oceans, finding a beach bar in Costa Rica isn’t going to be difficult. However, with that much area to cover, finding the best beach bars Costa Rica has to offer could prove a little more daunting. That’s where this list of the five best Costa Rica beach bars from Costa Rican Vacations comes handy. They’ve spent ten year researching the subject and came up with their five favorites. I can appreciate that kind of dedication to research.
Included among the list of best Costa Rica beach bars is the Lazy Mon, a surf watcher’s dream come true. “Overlooking Puerto Viejo’s famous ‘Salsa Brava’ surf break, this is the perfect place to check out the lineup.” Coco’s Bar, located in Cahuita, plays “booming reggae” music in this “laid back Caribbean hamlet.” Lonely Planet describes it as “one insanely loud drinking hole.” Also on the list is the uniquely named Outback Jack’s Roadkill Grill (I really hope they have t-shirts because I’ll take a dozen), where “great food, great atmosphere, great locals” pretty much sums it up. The kicker – it’s being given away to the writer of the best essay.
