“Best beach bar” lists pop up as certain as the end of summer comes rolling around each year and reactions to the lists are as varied as they are to the end of our warmest months and the coming of the inevitable cool down. The latest list to land on the internets is from vinepair.com and they decide to tackle the good ol’ US of A, naming their 13 best beach bars in America.
Their coverage geography-wise is there with their choices ranging from Alaska to the Florida Keys, up and down the east and west coasts and even include a stopover in Hawaii. Popular favorites make the list as the Lorelei in Islamorada, Florida, Seacrets in Ocean City, Maryland, Old Tony’s in Redondo Beach, California, the Flora-Bama in Perdido Key, Florida and the Beachcomber in Welfleet Massachusetts take up five of the spots. The only open air bar in Alaska is our largest state’s only representative and when you throw in a beach bar where kids eat free, a Four Season pool with a swim up bar, a bar with what might be the best frozen drink ever and a couple bars in ultra luxe Malibu and Miami, and you have a list that meets the author’s criteria of varying in “vibe, price and location.”
It might not be the best “best beach bar” list but when it comes to showcasing the variety that can be found in beach bars, it’ll be hard to beat.

What an interesting list! Not sure we’ll want to check out the one in Alaska… But we have spent a long sunny afternoon or two at Seacrets in O.C. I grew up near there! Used to skip school and drive to the beach… But shhhh, don’t tell 🙂
