Sunset at Sharky’s on the Pier

I’ll be honest (to be honest, I’m honest at least most of the time) – I love this image of sunset at Sharky’s on the Pier. I take a ton of pictures with the idea that if I take a thousand of them, four or five might turn out pretty decent. It’s the law of averages and I take full advantage of it. This one was one of the decent ones and I like it not just because it’s a cool scene but because of what comprises the scene. You get a beautiful sunset through just enough cloud cover to make the sky interesting, the ocean and its waves crashing against the shore, people on the pier seemingly enjoying themselves, a glimpse of a family on the beach and Old Glory keeping an eye over all of it. There’s not much to dislike about the scene and it kind of makes me wish I was back there again.

In full disclosure, I did take the picture so I might be a little biased but it’s at least a little bit decent, right? Anywhooo, Happy Birthday Eve, America! I’m glad you’re the country I call home.
