Galveston’s Ocean Grille and Beach Bar Opens

Galveston, Texas has a new spot on the seawall for beach bar lovers and it’s the Ocean Grille and Beach Bar. Located at 1228 Seawall Boulevard, the owners of the new restaurant brought on two Houston area chefs to form the menu. According to the Houston Chronicle, “Brian Peper, formerly of Urban Eats and Bellaire-area Costa Brava, is the executive chef, and Randy Evans, Pettit’s longtime friend, served as a consulting chef.” Evans popularized “the farm-to-table dining concept in Houston” which is now in place at the Ocean Grille with home grown ingredients sourced from regional suppliers.

Martha Wilson-Rappaport from galveston.com recently reviewed the restaurant in this article where she described the crab cakes as “Gulf Coast fresh, pan seared to light crunchy perfection and have that “all crabby” texture in each bite” and the entree as ” expertly seared scallops, which were delicately caramelized without affecting the texture of the interior.”
