With Moonsplash on the Caribbean island of Anguilla just over a week away, my anticipation only grows greater with each passing day. To help the seemingly interminable days pass a little quicker until I set foot on the pier at Blowing Point, I watch videos – lots of them. Following are five videos that are helping me cope with my Anguilla addiction, a desire that will most likely only be sated when I finally move there and call it home. To paraphrase what one person (who currently calls it home) told me earlier this week: “You just need to move here.” I couldn’t agree more.
30 Seconds on Meads Bay
I took this while walking back to Blanchards from the Frangipani on Meads Bay. It was so beautiful, I knew I had to stop and preserve the moment.
A Sandy Ground Sunset
There’s no better spot for a beach bar bum to enjoy Anguilla’s sunsets than Sandy Ground. It’s the center of nightlife on the island so you can take your pick of beach bars to enjoy the nightly show. This was taken by yours truly just down the beach from Elvis’.
36 Hours in Anguilla
I may have only spent 48 hours in Anguilla on my last visit but that’s still 12 more than the NY Times did. Their video, however, steps on my videos and squishes them like a gnat. Sometimes you just have to let the professionals do their thing.
Droning Over Anguilla
Leave it to Anguilla Beaches’ Nori Evoy to get across in 33 seconds what I could never get across in 33 wordy articles. That’s why she’s one of the best ambassadors Anguilla has.
The People of Anguilla
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times. The only thing that matches the natural beauty of Anguilla is the people that call it home. These people are the same in real life as they are in the video – happy.
