Moonsplash 2015, taking place March 27-29 at its home for the last 20 years, Bankie Banx’s Dune Preserve beach bar in Anguilla, just released a poster listing the musical headliners for each day of the festival. The 25th anniversary show will feature Third World, Freddy McGregor and Jah Cure among others during a weekend full of reggae beats on the beach.
The festivities kick off Friday with International Night, featuring Jah Cure, Omari Banks and Mighty Mystic among other performers for the evening. Saturday will be the Night of Legends with scheduled artists Third World, Freddie McGregor and Bankie Banx & the All Star Band. Sunday, which is more of an informal jam band session on the beach, will feature the All Star Band and other local artists. For Friday and Saturday, doors open at 7:30 pm with shows starting at 9:30. General admission tickets are $45 each night with VIP Admission going for $100 each night. Sunday’s shows (which are FREE!) typically take place in the afternoon with a start time around midday so be sure and check the following sites for the latest official information. The last thing you would want is to show up at 7:30 pm Sunday and miss the last day of acts.

Which group are you most looking forward to seeing? If you’ve seen any of these groups live, which one would you recommend? This will be my first Moonsplash visit so any help you can provide a newbie will be appreciated. Don’t forget to come up and say “hi” if you see me – I will be the one proudly sporting the Beach Bar Bums swag!
Disclaimer: I will be attending Moonsplash as a guest of the Anguilla Tourist Board but all opinions are my own. Also, I’m prone to hyperbole but it’s with the best of intentions. Anguilla tends to get me all hyperbolic and such but if you’ve ever visited this Caribbean gem, you would understand why. If you have not yet visited, you should go … now, and you will soon find yourself reaching for the nearest thesaurus in a desperate search for suitable adjectives to describe how beautiful it is.
