I’ve written about the Blue Bitch Bar, located on the Philipsburg boardwalk in St. Maarten, previously on the blog (you can find the article here) and when I shared the article on my Facebook page, the number of comments I received that recommended it were numerous. Throwing caution to the wind, I heeded their advice and paid a visit to this curiously named bar.
We actually stumbled upon it by accident. It started raining as soon as we arrived on the boardwalk and as the downpour quickly intensified, the only thought on our minds was finding shelter. I quickly found myself a spot under some shutters at an open air restaurant and when I finally paused a moment to dry off and look around, I realized I was at Taloula Mango’s, the restaurant that actually housed the Blue Bitch Bar. Since the rain didn’t look like it was going to end anytime soon, I figured it was as good a time as any to get to know the Blue Bitch in person.
I’ll write more about our time at the Blue Bitch Bar including an unexpected but awesome conversation with the owner and getting “Bitch Slapped” by a shot (a couple times). In the meantime, here’s how you can find the Blue Bitch once you get to the second floor – just in case you’ve had one too many on the boardwalk and need a little guidance from yours truly.
