In two separate articles in back to back days, the two island Caribbean nation of St. Kitts and Nevis (a favorite of yours truly) got some much deserved love from two prominent publications. On Sunday, the Express out of the UK featured an article on Nevis, calling it “an unspoiled island getaway” and starting with the lead line “HALFWAY into my glass of rum punch on arrival at my hotel, the Montpelier Plantation & Beach, the rigours of my journey had already ebbed away.” Nevis has a way of doing that to you, washing away your worries just as the gently ebbing warm waters of the Caribbean clear the sand from your feet as you splash on down the beach to the next beach bar.
A day later, it was St. Kitts’ turn to shine as the New York Post waxed poetic about the island, describing it as “one of the most unspoiled gems in the West Indies, blessed with gorgeous seascapes, zero traffic lights and surprisingly affordable (at least for now) adventure.” Get there while you can still afford it. Coming soon to St. Kitts are a private jet terminal, an exclusive Park Hyatt and a super yacht marina – you know, for those of you who arrived in your private jet to go hop on your super yacht because you can. Christophe Harbour is bringing another level of class to St. Kitts (evidenced by the high end SALT Plage beach bar) and I, for one, am excited for what is yet to come for one of my favorite destinations in the world.
