I’m warning you right now – I’m taking a road trip next week from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West and back and I plan on getting absolutely obscene with the amount of pictures and updates I post. It’s not to make you jealous (OK, maybe just a little bit) but rather to share the beauty of the Florida Keys with everyone. For our trip last year, we only made it down to Islamorada before turning back but that was enough to whet the appetite for this year’s trip. Now we’re going as far as highway 1 and the A1A will take us and I couldn’t be more excited. The old adage “It’s not the destination but the journey that counts” couldn’t me more apropos. While I’m stoked to finally set my feet in Key West and do the Duval bar crawl (let me go ahead and apologize in advance for those updates), what I’m looking forward to even more is the drive down. Everyone has warned me about the traffic but I don’t have to drive so I’m not worried about that. I’m just along for the ride, suggesting places to stop and snap photos and demanding that we stop at yet another beach bar for yet another overpriced t-shirt.
We fly into West Palm Beach on Saturday and the road trip to Key West begins on Monday with the return to the Ft. Lauderdale area on Thursday. If you’re interested in my obscene number of posts (anyone?), you can follow me on social media by searching for the #bbbkw tag. I’ll be using that tag on all my posts to make it easy to follow along … and to make it easy for me to search through my posts the next morning to see if I posted anything incriminating the night before and promptly delete it. Hey, even a beach bar bum has a moral compass. It just gets in the way sometimes.
One of the parts of the road trip I’m looking forward to the most is the drive over Seven Mile Bridge with nothing but concrete, water and sky dominating the landscape. Of course, I won’t have this view but you could get really obscene with your posts if you did.

If you have any recommendations for places to visit, please let me know in the comments. My schedule’s pretty full already but I’m always looking for new places to explore!

I think when you hit KW you need to visit Louies backyard, blue heaven, pepe’s and B.O. Fish Wagon. You won’t regret it!

Thank you! Will definitely add those to the list.
