Garvery’s Sunshine Shack in Anguilla is a small but popular beach bar on Rendezvous Bay. For any longtime followers of this blog or any of my social media sites, my growing obsession with the island of Anguilla is no surprise. We came close to going to St. Martin last year with one of the main reasons being it’s only a ferry ride away from Anguilla. While researcing the island, the Sunshine Shack started popping up more and more. I was already familiar with the more famous ones such as The Dune Preserve, Elvis’ and Gwen’s but didn’t know a lot about this beach bar just down the beach from Dune Preserve. The more I looked, the more it became evident that I had to do my part to help highlight this gem of a beach bar.
The reviews on Trip Advisor are glowing – of the 70 reviews, 52 of them five stars and 14 of them are four stars. The other four people would probably find something wrong with dinner at the Frangipani’s Straw Hat or Cobà at the Viceroy. You can’t satisfy everyone but Garvey’s managed to pretty close.
The next time you find yourself in Anguilla, don’t forget to stop by Garvey’s Sunshine Shack and tell them I sent you. It won’t get you a free round of drinks or anything but it might make you look like an expert on beach bars. Who wouldn’t like that on their resume?
