Buho’s Beach Bar on Isla Mujeres in Mexico, just off the coast of Cancun. This is the beach bar where my love for beach bars began. I can still remember sitting on one of the swings at the bar and thinking to myself “I could sit here all day and be perfectly content.” The pursuit of living that dream every day goes on!

  1. Yes! I have been to this one! And one of my all time favorite beach bars; like out of a movie. There was the whitest sand there and I remember getting a Corona and walking in to the ocean and it never got above waist deep. 50 yards off the white sand beach and still waist deep. Those hammocks in the shade surrounding the bar were calling me too! The whole island was pretty cool I thought. Its where I first found my love for snorkeling. I have always wanted to return. Thanks for bringing this one back!

      • I think I went there once but it was at night and nobody told us on the boat where they were taking us – or at least we couldn’t understand what they were trying to tell us! It sure looks familiar, though. I’ll make a habit of coming here now!

    • You’re welcome, Andy! Thanks for sharing your experience there. It must be something about that beach and water and the people and the Coronas and the margaritas and …. Love hearing stories like this!

        • If someone else is making it, I’ll take a mojito! Always hated making those. I still can’t make a good one.

          • They are the most hated drink for a bartender, unless he takes pride in his work

          • I can understand why. They’re a lot of work!
