Tuesday Tunes – Sarah McLachlan, “River”

I decided to take the next few weeks before Christmas to highlight some of my favorite Christmas songs. It’s my favorite time of the year and Christmas music becomes non-stop in my house far earlier than is probably acceptable in most other homes. One of my favorite Christmas songs is “River” and my favorite version of it is the one by Sarah McLachlan. I love her voice and she’s been one of my favorite performers ever since her release of the album, “Surfacing.” I think her performance captures the essence of the song and lyrics and really puts you into the song’s story on a personal level more than the other versions are able to.
