St. Vincent and the Grenadines Beach Bars – La Playa Beach Bar and Bistro, Carriacou
Getting to St. Vincent and the Grenadines is hard enough from the US. Today’s beach bar focus, La Playa Beach Bar and Bistro in Carriacou, might convince you that the hassle is worth it.
The following review is from Green Roof Inn Carriacou’s website:
“Located on the beach in Hillsborough (walking distance from Green Roof Inn) just a stones through from the former Silver Beach Resort is La Playa- Beach Bar & Bistro. Right in town, yet very private and secluded, an oasis for spending the day, relaxing, swimming, having drinks and a snack or light lunch.
The Menu is simple but savoury and developed to suit the beach life.
During the day burgers, paninis, soup or salads are most popular.
In the evenings the barbeque is lit for grilled lobster and fish.
At La Playa as well as Green Roof Inn we have a strong policy on supporting the local market, avoiding long transports and imports. This reflects on the menu where we have Burgers that are made with all local ingredients.
We grind the beef our selves from loal free range cattle, we bake the brioche buns and make our own dressings and mayonaise.
The stone baked Paninis is a slow risen bread baked on a local sand stone and filled with home made papaya chutney and cured/baked ham from Trinidad.
Extensive cocktail menu, fresh local fruit juice, wine or local beers, Carib beer being the favorite
LIVE MUSIC EVERY SATURDAY!
Kathy Ann, Carol and Ameanne Lynette greats you with a smile and will take good care of you!”
Also, from CN Traveler (includes handy map):
“An offshoot of the highly recommended Green Roof Inn, serving organic hamburgers and the best panini west of Florence (Hillsborough Bay; 473-443-9399; entrées from $7).”
