Upper Keys Beach Bar Crawl – Postcard Inn Beach Resort and Marina

When I was looking at places to stay for our upcoming overnight trip to the upper Keys, I knew there was only one place I wanted to stay – the Postcard Inn Beach Resort and Marina at Holiday Isle. As I typically do before any trip, I had a set of requirements that had to be met (beach, easily accessible beach bars, central location to Islamorada/Key Largo, etc.) and so began my online research. The more I looked, the more I kept coming back to the Postcard Inn. I had been a fan of its Rum Runners beach bar and had featured it a couple times on my Facebook page. The pictures I viewed online of the Inn were beautiful and the reviews I read were glowing. When I contacted our friends over at floridabeachbar.com and asked them for beach bar recommendations in the Key Largo/Islamorada area, two of the beach bars they recommended were at the Postcard Inn – the aforementioned Rum Runners and the Tiki Bar. That was the clincher for me.

Once I knew we would be staying at the Postcard Inn, I contacted their public relations director (who has been tremendously nice and extremely helpful in her prompt responses) and she was able to arrange an interview for me with their food and beverage director along with a tour of their property. The results of that interview and tour will be one of the first “Beach Bar Bums Focus” articles we feature on the newly redesigned website.

For those of you in the Key Largo/Islamorada area, we will be staying at the Postcard Inn next week on August 27th (Tuesday) for one night. Our plans are to go to the Lorelei Cabana Bar for dinner and then come back to the Postcard Inn and hang out at the Tiki Bar and Rum Runners (should be back there by 9). If you can make it to either the Lorelei for dinner or the Tiki Bar/Rum Runners for drinks later that evening, we would love to meet up with you. We’ll even have some koozies to give away so you won’t walk away empty handed! You can leave a comment on this article or contact me through my Facebook page for more details. I hope we can finally get to meet some of you in person!

We’re also going to try and schedule a Beach Bar bums meet-up in the northern Ft. Lauderdale area since we’ll be staying in Boynton Beach for 10 days. It looks like the 29th (next Thursday) is going to be the best night. Can anyone offer any recommendations for a great place to meet? I was thinking the Sandbar at Boston’s on the Beach in Delray Beach or The Backyard in Boynton Beach. Just don’t recommend Blondie’s. 🙂
